FAQ - 💬

❓ What does Menopur do during IVF?

👉 Menopur, what does it do? Menopur stimulates the follicles in your ovaries, with the aim of an egg developing within each follicle. Possible side effects: • Local irritation at injection site. Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS).

❓ What do you use Menopur for?

👉 To help multiple follicles and therefore eggs to develop in women having in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment or other types of 'assisted conception'. The eggs are then harvested and fertilised outside the body. In men, MENOPUR is used to treat infertility in the following situation: • Low sperm count (oligospermia).

❓ Can Menopur help you get pregnant?

👉 These two hormones help your ovaries prepare eggs for ovulation. Using Menopur (menotropins) can make it easier for you to conceive a baby if you're having trouble getting pregnant.

❓ How does Menopur make you feel?

👉 Menopur also contains luteinizing hormone (LH). Side effects of Gonal-F and Menopur that are similar include headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, bloating, injection site reactions (redness, pain, bruising, swelling, irritation), breast swelling/tenderness/pain, or skin rash.

❓ Does Menopur affect egg quality?

👉 Your clinic should carefully assess the level and brand of stimulating medication it gives you (e.g. Menopur, Gonal-f). Too high a dose pushes your follicles too fast: this affects egg quality.

❓ When is the best time to take Menopur?

👉 In patients receiving a GnRH antagonist, Menopur treatment should be started on day 2 or 3 of the menstrual cycle (day 1 is the first day of your period). Treatment should be given every day for at least 5 days.

❓ How many days should I take Menopur?

👉 Treatment should be given every day for at least 5 days. The initial dose of Menopur is normally 150-225 IU. This dose may be increased according to your response to the treatment up to a maximum of 450 IU per day. Normally treatment should not continue for more than 20 days.

❓ How many eggs is good for IVF?

👉 Women under 38 in our IVF program have acceptable live birth rates even with only 3 – 6 eggs, do better with more than 6 eggs, and do best with more than 10 eggs. Women 38-40 and 41-42 years old have low live birth rates with low egg numbers. Success rates are much better when relatively high egg numbers are obtained.

❓ Does Menopur cause weight gain?

👉 stomach pain, bloating; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; rapid weight gain, especially in your face and midsection; little or no urinating; or.
